The reported inconsistencies between the van't Hoff equation and calorimetry hinder the utility of thermodynamics in biochemical and pharmaceutical research. In this study, a novel adsorbent, A-PEI/CS-Cu2+, was developed by crosslinking polyethyleneimine/chitosan hydrogel with acrolein and loading it with copper ions.
