On the basis of several years' material the mechanical lesions combined with burns are analysed by the authors and the diagnostical and therapeutical problems are dealt with. On the basis of their experiences it is pointed out that in the case of primary surgical management the reciprocal aggravating effect does not develop. Even in second-degree burned area primary healing of the suture following the wound excision has been observed. Extension treatment of the fracture is but rarely successful, the ideal method is the stable osteosynthesis.

Five children developed esophageal stricture from the ingestion of a Clinitest tablet. The sodium hydroxide contained in these tablets induced a short, dense stricture that was resistant to dilation and necessitated resection. In all patients primary esophageal resection with end-to-end anastomosis was technically possible. Four of the patients needed two or more dilations postoperatively and 1 still requires dilation. Pavement burns are common in a dry high heat climate. This study reviews the etiology, management, and outcome pavement burns in children. All patients age <18 who sustained contact burns from hot pavement from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2019 were reviewed for mechanism, medical history, treatment course, and outcome. The nose is the central organ of the face. It has two essential roles, aesthetic and breathing. It is often seriously damaged in the context of facial burns, causing grotesque facial disfigurement. As this disfigurement is visible on frontal and profile views, the patient suffers both socially and psychologically. The nose is a three-dimensional organ.
