Changes in diameters of blood capillaries of the white rat spinal cord, peculiar changes in volume and metabolic surface of capillaries in the cervical part of the spinal cord were studied under the effect of noise (90-100 db, 2 h daily, for 2, 4 and 8 weeks). Capillary malformation (CM), or port wine birthmark, is a congenital low-flow vascular malformation of dilated capillaries and postcapillary venules. It often affects the face and may darken, thicken, or develop nodules over time. Alveolar capillary dysplasia with misalignment of the pulmonary veins (ACD/MPV) is a rare, fatal developmental lung disorder of neonates and infants. This review aims to address recent findings in the etiology and genetics of ACD/MPV and to raise awareness of this poorly known disease, which may also present as milder, unclassified forms. BACKGROUND: Juxtapapillary capillary hemangioblastomas are vascular lesions that occur on the optic nerve head or immediately adjacent to the optic disc. Although juxtapapillary capillary hemangioblastomas may appear as an isolated clinical finding, they are more likely to be a precursor to the diagnosis of von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) disease. When associated with VHL, the ocular complications from hemangioblastoma are generally greater, and subsequently the prognosis is poorer than for isolated entities.

A modified capillary thrombometer was constructed to study the rate of thrombus formation using heparinized whole blood (2 U/ml) obtained from normal adults (n = 22) and children (n = 20) and patients with hemophilia A (n = 10) or von Willebrand's disease (n = 8). PURPOSE: To investigate eyes with solitary large aneurysms arising from retinal capillaries.
METHODS: Consecutive patients with aneurysms greater than 200 µm in diameter were evaluated with a comprehensive ophthalmologic examination including optical coherence tomography, optical coherence tomography angiography, and fluorescein angiography. The aneurysms were solitary in the sense, and there was only one aneurysm larger than the threshold diameter and a few or no other aneurysms.

Conjunctival hemangioma over the age of 60 is rare, with few cases reported in the literature. We present a unique case of a conjunctival capillary hemangioma, adding to the sparse literature of this uncommon vascular tumor. Here, we present an interesting case of spontaneous development of this tumor at age 68, without associated systemic disease process or cutaneous manifestations.
