Using the dimethylbenz(a)anthracene-induced mammary tumor model in rats, our studies indicated that there was a dose-response relationship between dietary selenium supplementation and the inhibition of mammary carcinogenesis. Results of prolonged conservative treatment of patients with stomach ulcer are analyzed. Two groups of patients have been studied. Group 1 consisted of patients with long-term disease, incidence of stomach cancer in this group was 6.4%. Benzophenone, an aryl ketone, is used primarily as a photoinitiator and fragrance enhancer. Groups of 50 male and 50 female F344 rats and B6C3 F1 mice were fed diets containing 0, 312, 625, and 1250 ppm benzophenone for 105 weeks.
