OBJECTIVES: Every year 3 millions of young women had undergone female genital mutilation. The psychological, identical and sexual consequences, as well as the treatment were described only recently. After a sociodemographic and cultural reminder, we analyze the anatomical, psychological, identital, and functional results of the reconstructive surgery.

Successful allogenic transplantations of the uterus, ovary, testicle, and penis have all been reported. Clitoris reconstruction is often used in transgender reassignment. Most techniques now reconstruct the clitoris using glans pedicled on the dorsal phallic neurovascular bundle. Other techniques of clitoris reconstruction re-shape retained elements of the proximal segment of the corpora cavernosa, as well as techniques mobilising local flaps. We are presenting a new technique for clitoris reconstruction using an innervated free web space flap. The operative technique and outcome are illustrated and discussed in this case report.

Leiomyosarcoma is a rare form of cancer commonly found in the retroperitoneum, uterus, stomach, small intestine and vascular tissue. We describe a rare case of clitoromegaly due to a large clitoral cyst that occurred spontaneously without any declared previous female genital mutilation. The cyst was excised successfully with good cosmetic results.

This article describes a clitoris reconstruction technique after ritual excision. After resection of the scar, the angle and the body of the clitoris are then released by preserving the innervation. A clitoral glans is reconstituted by wedge plasty, then reimplanted in an anatomical position. This technique is designed to restore normal anatomy and obtain a normally innervated and whenever possible functional organ.

Clitoral enlargement (clitoromegaly) due to non-hormonal causes, particularly due to vascular malformation, is rare. Only eight such cases are reported in the literature. We report an additional case of isolated vascular malformation implicating the clitoris of a young girl child and its surgical management.

We investigated the hypothesis that passage of urine through urethra stimulates corporal tissue and cavernosus muscles. Electromyographic (EMG) activity of corpora cavernosa (CC), bulbocavernosus muscle (BCM), and ischiocavernosus muscle (ICM) was recorded in 27 healthy women before and during micturition.
