This study was conducted to investigate the prophylactic effects of lycopene (LC) and ellagic acid (EA) on 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD)-induced testicular and spermatozoal toxicity. A new model of cirrhosis of the liver was created in experiment on 30 rats. Over 3 weeks, experimental animals in addition to the standard diet daily intragastrically received corn oil in combination with intragastric administration of acetaminophen in a dose of 500 mg/day. Light microscopy was used to examine the oviduct and endometrium of offspring from mice administered DES (10 micrograms/kg in 0.1 cc of corn oil, subcutaneously) or corn oil alone on Day 15 of gestation.
