AIM: To compare thermocoagulation and cryotherapy for treatment of high-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN).
METHODS: From May 2017 to May 2018, women with CIN2/3 were randomized to thermocoagulation or cryotherapy at Peking University Shenzhen Hospital. Follow-up at 4 and 8 months included cytology and human papillomavirus (HPV) testing. Women who were HPV-positive or had atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance or higher-grade disease underwent colposcopy/biopsy.

Hereditary leiomyomatosis and renal cell cancer (HLRCC) syndrome is an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by cutaneous leiomyomas (CLM), uterine leiomyomas, and the increased risk of renal cell carcinoma. Piloleiomyomas develop from the arrectorpili muscle and are usually painful. For 22% of the affected patients, the pain is reported to impair their life quality. Since there are few case reports about cryotherapy for cutaneous leiomyomas in the literature, we have decided to present three patients who had painful cutaneous leiomyomas treated with cryotherapy.

METHODS: Between 2010 and 2013, 76 ingrown toenails of 62 patients were included in this prospective study. Following partial toenail removal, matricectomy with cryotherapy was performed. OBJECTIVE: To assess the impact of the cough technique on the tip temperature reached in a cryotherapy device commonly used to treat precancerous cervical lesions.

Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a vasoproliferative disorder often met in infants of very preterm delivery. We describe an elderly woman in whom keratoacanthoma developed from one nodule of prurigo nodularis that had been treated with cryotherapy for 3 months. Since in our case keratoacanthoma developed after treatment with liquid nitrogen for prurigo nodularis which had been constantly scratched in the past, we hypothesize that irritations of cryotherapy in addition to repeated mechanical traumas of scratching might have played a role in the formation of this tumor.

The outcome of treatment for trigeminal neuralgia was evaluated in 145 patients treated with cryotherapy, 265 patients treated with radiofrequency thermocoagulation and 65 patients treated with microvascular decompression. We report a system for photographic grading of the posterior fundus features of retinopathy of prematurity and correlation of such features … tion. The grading scheme provided the basis for the 3-month conclusions of the multicenter trial of cryotherapy for retinopathy of prematurity.
