Pregnant Long-Evans hooded rats were dosed with 5, 10, 20, or 40 mg/kg/d cocaine from GD7 through GD20; pairfed/vehicle-injected, and uninjected controls were included. Thirty-six 3-week-old male Wistar rats were labeled with a single intraperitoneal tetracycline injection. Twenty-four of them were then fed a Ca-deficient basal diet for 3 weeks, while the control group received the basal diet supplemented with CaCO3 (12 g/kg). We developed a constant-pressure vascular perfusion system of the isolated rat stomach, utilizing an artificial, fluorocarbon (FC-75)-containing medium.
