Tuberculosis is a serious contagious disease mainly affecting the lungs and is common in the developing countries. The essential component of all antitubercular regimens include Isoniazid, pyrazinamide as first-line drugs. A serious cutaneous adverse drug reaction namely exfoliative dermatitis (erythroderma) is associated with isoniazid use though uncommon but is common among pyrazinamide users. Here we report 3 cases of tuberculosis patients on antitubercular therapy (ATT) for 8 weeks, came to hospital OP (outpatient) with severe generalized redness and scaling with itching distributed all ov

Eccrine syringofibroadenoma (ESFA) is a rare benign cutaneous adnexal lesion characterized by a hyperplastic epithelium and eccrine ductal differentiation. In the present case, a 73-year-old Korean male presented with symmetrical numerous widespread, pinkish nodules with a cobblestone appearance over both legs for 2 years. He had a history of generalized erythematous scaly patches over his entire body for 20 years. On histopathologic findings, diagnosis of ESFA was confirmed. Our unusual and interesting case emphasizes the first report described one case in which multiple cobblestone like ESFA

Three patients with immune-mediated polyneuropathies developed rash, eczema, whole body scaling, vesicles in hands and loss of hair a few days after infusion of large doses of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG). The condition was diagnosed as exfoliative dermatitis. Two out of three patients were afterwards treated with low doses of IVIG slowly increased over a year given under the protection of oral steroids. Our findings indicate that exfoliative dermatitis can be provoked by IVIG treatment, and that the treatment can be reinstalled by slowly increasing the IVIG dose under steroid cover.

Lymphocyte subsets, major histocompatibility complex (MHC)-II expressing cells and number of amastigotes in the epidermis and dermis were investigated immunohistochemically in 48 dogs with patent leishmaniosis, with or without exfoliative dermatitis (ED) to study the immunopathogenesis of this common cutaneous form of the disease. Skin biopsies were obtained and compared for ED sites (group A, n = 26), normal-appearing skin from the same animals (group B, n = 24), and leishmanial dogs not exhibiting ED (group C, n = 22), and normal controls (group D, n = 22). The CD3+, CD45RA+, CD4+, CD8+ (CD8

BACKGROUND: Platinum is one of the most widely used agents in clinical oncology today. Serious toxic effects are well recognized.
FINDINGS: To our knowledge, the current report describes the first case of severe allergic exfoliative dermatitis associated with ischemia and necrosis of the hands in a patient who had received multiple doses of this agent. We postulate that the tissue damage was caused by vasospasm of small vessels from the initial injury triggered by platinum or its associated immune complexes.
CONCLUSION: Platinum has become an integral part of combination chemotherapy for var
