OBJECTIVE: To investigate the efficacy of artificial knee arthroplasty in conjunction with internal fracture fixation for treating knee osteoarthritis and a femoral condyle fracture.
METHODS: From January 2013 to June 2020, the researchers' department admitted 11 patients with femoral condyle fractures in combination with knee osteoarthritis. OBJECTIVE: To study the clinical outcome of total hip arthroplasty(THA) for traumatic arthritis after acetabular fracture.
METHODS: From June 2010 to June 2014, 33 hips in 33 patients with traumatic arthritis after acetabular fracture were retrospective analyzed including 21 males and 12 females with a mean age of 44.6 years old. Rapidly-progressive spontaneous progression of the osteolysis following internal fixation of pathological fracture in patients with Paget's disease has not been previously reported. We describe two patients, aged 59 and 65 years, respectively, who had pathological subtrochanteric fractures in Pagetic femora fixed internally using an interlocked intramedullary nail, and who developed spontaneous rapid osteolysis. Both patients responded favourably to long-term treatment with alendronate, with resultant fracture union and resolution of osteolysis.

In this article, we examine rates of in-hospital mortality of elderly patients with femoral neck fracture treated with internal fixation or hemiarthroplasty. Data were analyzed for 51,003 patients (> or = 65 years old) admitted with femoral neck fractures to New York state hospitals between 1985 and 1996. The primary outcome examined was in-hospital mortality. Associations between type of surgical procedure and outcome were assessed using a multiple logistic regression model, adjusting for patient age, sex, race, number of comorbidities, and residence in a nursing facility before hip fracture.

From 1991 to 1994, 39 ankles of 38 patients underwent surgical open reduction and internal fixation for pilon fractures. These patients included 29 males and 9 females with an average age of 38.6 y/o (range 28 y/o-58 y/o). BACKGROUND: Traditionally, combined fourth and fifth carpometacarpal fracture dislocations are treated conservatively or by means of Kirschner wire after closed reduction.
