OBJECTIVE: Lower limb discrepancy (LLD) was frequently observed in patients with idiopathic scoliosis (IS), potentially associated with etiopathogenesis. Although sole lifts had been proposed as a conservative treatment for IS, evidence supporting their efficacy was limited. This study aimed to assess the effects of sole lift intervention on pediatric patients with mild IS, specifically focusing on thoracolumbar/lumbar (TL/L) curvature.

UNLABELLED: This case report describes the physical therapy episode of care for an adolescent following surgical placement of an intramedullary skeletal kinetic distractor (ISKD) to minimize a leg-length discrepancy (LLD).
METHODS: A 14-year-old female was referred to home health physical therapy 2 weeks after ISKD placement in her right femur. The purpose of this review was to determine whether the literature supports in situ prophylactic pinning of the hip contralateral to a hip with a slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE). The authors have evaluated a complex of 34 femurs prolongated in the period 1978-1988 by means of Wagner (26), Ilizarov (5) or bisegmental external fixation device of their own design (3). Based on statistical analysis of 97 chronic low back patients, a pelvic list model has been proposed explaining the correlation between leg length discrepancies (LLD) and sciatica.
