The mechanisms whereby hepatic fibrosis develops in chronic liver diseases remain incompletely defined. Here, we sought to examine whether microRNA (miRNA) became dysregulated in dimethylnitrosamine-induced hepatic fibrosis in rats. Promoter methylation is a common phenomenon in tumours, including haematological malignancies.
