A method to measure intrapulpal temperatures during cavity preparation and restorative procedures has been developed. It involves placement of temperature probes to the dentinoenamel and dentinopulpal junctions. After placement of the probes, the pulps of the test teeth were examined histologically to determine whether their placement caused a pulpal response. The test teeth displayed no adverse response in the areas of the pulp opposite or adjacent to the position of the probes. In this study, we isolated and identified bacteria from the feces of a diarrheal cynomolgus monkey. The results showed that the isolated strain was P. aeruginosa, named PA/CM-101101. A new isolate of hepatitis A virus (HAV), CY-145, was isolated from stool specimens obtained from cynomolgus macaques naturally infected with this agent. The yield of translocations induced by delta-rays in the crab-eating monkey (Macaca fascicularis) spermatogonia were studied by cytological analysis in spermatocytes derived from them. The protective efficacy of a killed, purified, phase I Coxiella burnetii vaccine was tested in cynomolgus monkeys.
