Psychosocial working conditions and symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress among nurses: A cross-sectional study.

BACKGROUND: Adverse psychosocial working conditions are increasingly recognized as organizational factors associated with nurses' mental health. However, researchers conducting studies simultaneously evaluating multiple psychosocial work dimensions and symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress using comprehensive, validated instruments remain limited, particularly in Spanish nursing populations. OBJECTIVES: To examine the association between psychosocial working conditions and depression, anxiety, and stress among registered nurses. METHODS: A cross-sectional analytical study was conducted

Examining the Mediating Role of Psychological Well-Being in the Relationship Between Organizational Virtuousness and Proactive Work Behavior Among Nurses.

BACKGROUND: Organizational virtuousness may be associated with proactive work behavior in healthcare organizations. However, the psychological processes underlying this association remain insufficiently understood. AIM: This study aimed to examine the indirect association between organizational virtuousness and proactive work behavior through psychological well-being among nurses. METHODS: This cross-sectional study included a convenience sample of 206 nurses recruited from a renal and urology hospital in Minia Governorate, Egypt. Data were collected between April and June 2025 using self-re

Theories X and Y in five parts of the organization.

The most important resource for an organization's success is still its human capital. Despite being the primary driver of organizational success, human resources' motivation and interpersonal dynamics are frequently taken into account independently of structural design. But in this paradigm, integrating structural and motivational theories is considered to be necessary to comprehend organizational behavior. The study offers a theoretical synthesis by applying McGregor's theories X and Y to Mintzberg's five organizational components-strategic apex, middle line, operating core, technostructure,

Corporate working in health visiting: a concept analysis.

AIM OF THE PAPER: The aim of this paper is to examine individualized health visiting care and compare it to corporate working within a consensual management style. Corporate working has been discussed and used in many different ways since the idea first came to light at the end of the 1980s. Resource management makes it an appealing model, however, analysing how corporate working functions in the practice setting reveals the complexity of this method of service provision. BACKGROUND: This paper is based on a method of practice developed by health visitors in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, who i

Factors associated with the adoption of evidence-based innovations by substance use disorder treatment organizations: A study of HIV testing.

INTRODUCTION: Though prior research shows that a range of important regulatory, market, community, and organizational factors influence the adoption of evidence-based practices (EBPs) among health care organizations, we have little understanding of how these factors relate to each other. To address this gap, we test a conceptual model that emphasizes indirect, mediated effects among key factors related to HIV testing in substance use disorder treatment organizations (SUTs), a critical EBP during the US opioid epidemic. METHODS: We draw on nationally representative data from the 2014 (n = 697)

A Lean-based Digital Twin model for planning and governance in secondary and tertiary hospital networks.

BACKGROUND: Healthcare systems face growing pressure and recurrent capacity-demand imbalances across hospital networks. While Lean Healthcare improves patient flow, most implementations remain confined to departmental silos and individual facilities. Simultaneously, Digital Twin (DT) applications in healthcare predominantly focus on precision medicine or isolated unit optimization, leaving a gap in system-level resource management. This study aims to propose a Lean-grounded DT model to support integrated activity and capacity planning across multi-provider hospital networks. METHODS: Situated

Transformational school leadership and teacher work engagement: PsyCap and perceived organizational support in China.

This cross-sectional, quantitative study examines how transformational school leadership relates to teacher work engagement in China and specifies when these effects are most potent. Anchored in Conservation of Resources, Social Exchange, and Job Demands-Resources frameworks, we advance a novel moderated mediation model in which psychological capital functions as the motivational mechanism linking leadership to engagement, and perceived organizational support amplifies both the direct and indirect pathways. Data from K-12 teachers across five major Chinese cities were collected via validated i

The support paradox: work family conflict, glass ceiling barriers, technostress, and job satisfaction among female academics in Indonesian Catholic higher education.

INTRODUCTION: Female academics face multidimensional institutional demands arising from work-family conflict, glass ceiling barriers, and technostress, which may undermine job satisfaction. Although supportive organizational culture is frequently regarded as an important organizational resource, limited evidence is available regarding its capacity to buffer the adverse associations between these demands and job satisfaction. This study examines these relationships among female academics employed in Indonesian Catholic higher education institutions. METHODS: A quantitative cross-sectional surv

Green Voice Behavior in Nursing: The Roles of Organizational Support, Intrinsic Motivation, and Psychological Safety.

BACKGROUND: Coordinated action is needed to combat climate change and environmental damage, and it is important that healthcare be part of that response. Through proactive behaviors such as environmentally responsible communication or "green voice behavior," nurses can effectively support sustainability initiatives. However, empirical evidence on the factors that encourage such behavior remains limited. This study examined the relationship between perceived green organizational support and nurses' green voice behavior, while also testing the mediating role of green intrinsic motivation and the

Development and Validation of an Organizational Well-being Scale for Workers Across Diverse Industries.

OBJECTIVES: To develop an instrument for assessing organizational well-being and examine its construct validity and cross-sample stability among Thai workers. METHODS: This sequential validation study generated a 45-item pool across five domains. Survey 1 (telecommunications; n = 655) refined the scale using first- and second-order confirmatory factor analyses (CFA). Survey 2 (multi-sector; n = 511) evaluated cross-sample validation, model fit, and structural stability. RESULTS: CFA condensed the instrument into a 26-item, five-domain structure with acceptable fit (RMSEA = 0.060, SRMR = 0.04

The Impact of Individual and Institutional Factors on Turnover Intent Among Taiwanese Correctional Staff.

The existing literature on turnover intent among correctional staff conducted in Western societies focuses on the impact of individual-level factors; the possible effects of institutional contexts have been largely overlooked. Moreover, the relationships of various multidimensional conceptualizations of both job satisfaction and organizational commitment to turnover intent are still largely unknown. Using data collected by a self-reported survey of 676 custody staff employed in 22 Taiwanese correctional facilities during April of 2011, the present study expands upon theoretical models develope

Organizational transformation elements for evidence-based practice by hospital nursing staff: a qualitative study using 7-S framework.

BACKGROUND: Existing models that promote the implementation of evidence-based practice (EBP) give a fragmented picture of the process and factors. This means that a comprehensive view of the elements necessary for an organization to implement sustained EBP is lacking. Clarifying organizational transformation elements using the 7-S framework (Styles, Superordinate goals, Skills, Staff, Strategy, Systems, Structure) allows the organizational conditions to be comprehensively assessed, guiding transformation efforts toward sustaining EBPs. In addition, while ward-level group learning supports EBP

Improving tobacco cessation interventions in hospitals: Pre-post evaluation of an innovative health systems intervention in Catalonia (Spain).

This study measured changes in healthcare professionals' (HCPs) performance in tobacco cessation intervention before and 6 months after a health system intervention. The intervention involved exposure to online training for staff and the implementation of a structured organizational change-level practice model that included some strategies, comprising establishing tobacco cessation steering groups with champions in each hospital, developing tailored protocols and guidelines within each organization, conducting on-site workshops for clinicians, and creating posters and pocket materials summariz

Development and implementation of a business continuity management risk index.

This paper will present the building blocks for developing and implementing the BCM risk index; whether it is used as a comprehensive metric for risk or preparedness. This paper introduces the concept of a business continuity management (BCM) risk index--a comprehensive metric that measures and reports the status of the primary 'intended outcome' of the BCM programme to top management. In addition to measuring the primary programme output,;the BCM risk index can be used to demonstrate the overall value of the BCM programme to executive management. This is accomplished because the BCM risk inde

Achieving enhanced organisational resilience by improved management of risk: Summary of research into the principles of resilience and the practices of resilient organisations.

There have been many high-profile incidents in recent times that have affected both individual organisations and large parts of society. In response to these disasters and their consequences, there has been increasing focus on the concept of 'resilience'. Airmic worked with Cranfield School of Management to investigate the features of resilient organisations and whether common characteristics could be identified. The research summarised in this paper discovered five principles that increase an organisation's level of resilence. The paper also reports on the actions taken by organisations to em

Caring for the mental health of humanitarian volunteers in traumatic contexts: the importance of organisational support.

Background: Humanitarian workers operate in traumatic contexts, putting them at an increased risk of adverse mental health outcomes. The quality of the support they receive from their organization, their supervisor, and team members are proposed as determinants of mental illness and well-being, via the stress-appraisal process. Objective: Grounded in organizational support theory, we sought to understand the relationship between organizational factors, including perceived organizational support, supervisor support, and team support, and indicators of both adverse mental health and mental well-
