PURPOSE: To identify the effect of infant hypermetropia on residual amblyopia in children remaining after treatment.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: 879 strabismic children had cycloplegic retinoscopy at the age of 6 months and later when strabismus was diagnosed. PURPOSE: This study sought to determine the prevalence of myopia in schoolchildren of a rural population in Mexico.
METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted in 317 children between 6 and 12 years old. A complete refractive examination was performed, including static retinoscopy without cycloplegic agents. All procedures were conducted according to the Declaration of Helsinki.

METHODS: The study included 81 subjects with presbyopia who aged 40-70 years. Reading addition values were measured using 3 approaches including the amplitude of accommodation (AA), dynamic retinoscopy (DR), and increasing plus lens (IPL).

METHODS: A total of 478 children with astigmatism from Valencia Province, Spain were examined. The patients, ranging in age from 2-12 years, were classified into groups according to age. Astigmatism error and axis orientation were determined using noncyclopegic retinoscopy over each eye.
