Criminal history plays a prominent role in violence risk assessments. For people in nondominant groups, disproportionate criminal justice involvement may unfairly and inaccurately elevate violence risk in evaluations. AIM: Mortality in infants born with gastroschisis (GS) in low-to-middle-income countries (LMICs) is high. This study aimed to assess factors which might affect outcome in Egypt in order to improve survival.
METHODS: A prospective study over a 15-month duration was completed. Variables assessed covered patient, maternal, antenatal, treatment, and complications. OBJECTIVE: To identify the risk factors for foot ulceration through the tracing of diabetic peripheral neuropathy and peripheral arterial disease in individuals with type I and II diabetes, who were assisted in reference centers of the Federal District, Brazil.
METHOD: a cross-sectional and analytical study, with the assessment of 117 individuals in outpatient clinics of the Federal District. Continuous variables were compared through Mann-Whitney test, and categorized variables, through Chi-square test for univariate analysis and Logistics regression test for multivariate analysis.

The assessment of an offender's risk of recidivism is emerging as a key consideration in sentencing policy in many US jurisdictions. However, little information is available on how actual sentencing judges view this development. CASE SUMMARY: A 44-year-old white woman developed acute hyponatremia and 2 subsequent tonic-clonic seizures after ingesting twice her evening dose of carbamazepine (usual evening dose 600 mg).
