Uvea of the eye is a term that includes the iris, choroid, and ciliary body. Inflammation of all layers of the uvea is called panuveitis. Panuveitis can even spread to involve the optic nerve, retina, vitreous humor, or lens. This process can lead to redness and pain in the eye, blurring of vision, and even blindness. The condition is usually treated with topical steroids, but it becomes difficult in steroid-responders. Here, we present the case of a rare non-infective unilateral case of panuveitis that was successfully treated in an unorthodox manner.

The vascular effects of fasciculin and physostigmine, two acetylcholinesterase inhibitors, were studied with radioactively labelled microspheres in the rabbit eye. In addition, the effects on the intraocular pressure, pupil size and the aqueous humor protein concentration were determined. Data is presented to support a physiologic vasoconstrictor function of the parasympathetic nervous system in the anterior uvea of the eye. Studies in rabbits, cats and monkeys demonstrate that stimulation of the parasympathetic nerve fibers running with the oculomotor nerve to the eye induces a reduction in blood flow of the iris and in rabbits in the ciliary processes in addition. OBJECTIVES: To characterize the impact of prior exposure and refractoriness to lenalidomide or proteasome inhibitors (PIs) on the effectiveness and safety of ixazomib-lenalidomide-dexamethasone (IRd) in relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM).
METHODS: INSURE is a pooled analysis of adult RRMM patients who had received IRd in ≥2 line of therapy from three studies: INSIGHT MM, UVEA-IXA, and REMIX.
