Pericardial tumors are rare lesions that include a range of neoplastic conditions that may arise within the pericardium or metastasize to involve it secondarily. Understanding the spectrum of lesions that are included in the differential diagnosis of a pericardial mass-lesion is critical to making timely, accurate diagnoses and getting the appropriate therapy should one be necessary. This review summarizes the radiologic and pathologic findings of the most commonly encountered of these entities.

OBJECTIVE: To examine the role of neck dissection in the treatment of metastatic stage 3 nonseminomatous germ-cell tumors (NSGCTs) of testicular origin.
METHOD: A retrospective review was made of 45 patients with metastatic NSGCT who underwent 48 unilateral and 3 bilateral neck dissections. Only level III-VI nodes were dissected, often with concomitant or staged mediastinal dissection, thoracotomy, and/or retroperitoneal node dissection. Occasionally, resection of the clavicle, jugular vein, or subclavian artery, or a combination of these, was required to eradicate the disease.

In July 1985, the Gynecologic Oncology Group initiated a series of phase II trials with ifosfamide/mesna in advanced or recurrent gynecologic malignancies. AIM: To assess diagnostic and therapeutic problems in children with parameningeal STS treated in the Departments of Paediatric Oncology in Gdansk and Lublin between 1992 and 2006.
