The results of 300 consecutive glaucoma filtering procedures, which were performed in our clinic between January 1982 and September 1985, are described. The overall combined success rate (complete + qualified) was 66.5% (Heuer's classification). This is in good agreement with other glaucoma referral centers. Laser peripheral iridotomy is the procedure of choice for the treatment of angle-closure glaucoma caused by relative or absolute pupillary block. Nd: YAG laser iridotomy has been reported to have several complications such as Iris bleeding, hyphema, transient IOP elevation, intraocular inflammation, choroidal, retinal detachment and vitreous hemorrhage. PURPOSE: This case series describes the incidence, clinical associations, and treatment outcomes of Acanthamoeba keratitis (AK) secondary glaucoma to identify potential prophylactic measures and optimal treatment.

The gonioscopic findings of 76 patients with the exfoliation syndrome were reviewed. We studied the results of intercapsular cataract extraction and implantation of the rigid Galand disc intraocular lens (IOL) in 164 cataract patients with and without glaucoma. Eighty-eight percent of the glaucomatous eyes and 98% of the eyes without glaucoma had a postoperative visual acuity of 20/40 or better after best-case analysis. PURPOSE: Comparing the rate of postoperative shallow anterior chambers with three kinds of filtration surgery to find the most effective way of reducing the complication.
METHODS: The 120 cases (154 eyes) with primary angle-closure glaucoma or primary open-angle glaucoma were enrolled in this study.
