Tumor-Associated Sympathetic Nerves Promote the Progression of Epstein-Barr Virus-Positive Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma.

Epstein-Barr virus-positive (EBV+) diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) exhibits a poorer prognosis with limited treatment options. Although recent evidence indicates that the peripheral nervous system is associated with tumor progression, its role in EBV+DLBCL remains poorly understood. In the cohort, patients with EBV⁺DLBCL exhibit significantly shorter overall survival (OS). Two EBV+DLBCL cell lines are established and characterized. Although cell proliferation does not differ significantly in vitro, tumors derived from EBV+ DLBCL cells demonstrate accelerated growth compared to their pare

Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV)-Positive Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma in a Young Patient: A Difficult Diagnosis.

Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-positive diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (EBV+DLBCL) was initially hypothesized to occur against a background of age-related immunodeficiency and was classified as EBV-positive DLBCL of the elderly. Subsequent reports of younger patients led to the renaming of the disease. A 17-year-old girl with no significant medical history presented with a left neck mass. Positron emission tomography-CT revealed augmented FDG accumulation in the left neck and multiple FDG accumulations in other lymph nodes, necessitating a biopsy. Histological findings revealed destruction of the fol

Cutaneous sarcoidosis following complete remission of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma: a case report and literature review.

Sarcoidosis is a multi-systemic granulomatous disease of unknown etiology. Its association with lymphoproliferative disorders is termed sarcoidosis-lymphoma syndrome, which is typically characterized by sarcoidosis preceding lymphoma. However, the development of sarcoidosis after lymphoma remission is rare. A 72-year-old woman with a history of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, treated 11 years earlier, was admitted with a rash and weakness in the lower limbs. Multiple inflammatory lesions, predominantly in the lower limbs, were detected using computed tomography and fluorodeoxyglucose positron e

Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma Developing on the Background of Long-standing Ulcerative Colitis: A Case Report.

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that may result in malignant complications over time, though lymphoma is rarely reported. This paper describes a 46-year-old woman with an eight-year history of UC who was admitted with acute severe ulcerative colitis based on the Truelove and Witts criteria. She initially improved with intravenous corticosteroids, but hematochezia recurred during tapering. A cytomegalovirus infection was confirmed by PCR and treated with ganciclovir, resulting in partial symptom relief. Repeated colonic biopsies were obtained because of persisten

[Different initial responses following epcoritamab therapy for relapsed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma with multiple subcutaneous tumors].

A 73-year-old man with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma relapsed for the fourth time in April 2024 after receiving CAR-T therapy for third relapse in July 2023. Following one cycle of DeVIC therapy for tumor debulking, treatment with the bispecific antibody epcoritamab was initiated in May 2024. The lesion in the right cheek rapidly shrank, but the lesion in the left lower leg grew by day 3 of treatment. Without additional interventions, the left leg lesion shrank by day 14. After one cycle of epcoritamab, a CT scan showed a partial response in both lesions. Although histological confirmation was

IELSG30 phase 2 trial: intravenous and intrathecal CNS prophylaxis in primary testicular diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.

Primary testicular diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (PTL) is characterized by high risk of contralateral testis and central nervous system (CNS) relapse. Chemoimmunotherapy with intrathecal (IT) CNS prophylaxis and contralateral testis irradiation eliminates contralateral recurrences and reduces CNS relapses. The IELSG30 phase 2 study investigated feasibility and activity of an intensified IT and IV CNS prophylaxis. Patients with stage I/II PTL who had not received treatment received 2 cycles of IV high-dose methotrexate (MTX) (1.5 g/m2) after 6 cycles of the R-CHOP regimen (rituximab, cyclophosp

Recurrent Syncope as a Rare Initial Manifestation of Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma in the Cervical Region.

BACKGROUND Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is the most prevalent form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, representing around a quarter of newly diagnosed cases of B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is a disease that affects mostly older persons, with a median presentation in the 7th decade of life. Clinically, it has a variety of presentations, ranging from constitutional symptoms to local or systemic pressure effects caused by a rapidly growing mass. Only rarely do head and neck lymphomas present as syncopal events. Although diffuse large B-cell lymphoma frequently involves the ce

Genetic susceptibility of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma: a meta genome-wide association study in Asian population.

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is an aggressive malignancy and the most common form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) that occurs worldwide. To discover risk factors and pathogenesis of DLBCL, we performed the largest GWAS of DLBCL to date in samples of East Asian ancestry, consisting of 2,888 patients with DLBCL and 12,458 controls. The meta-analysis identified three novel loci, rs2233434 on 6p21.1 (OR = 1.26, P = 1.17 × 10-8), rs11066015 on 12q24.12 (OR = 1.24, P = 6.57 × 10-9) and rs6032662 on 20q13.12 (OR = 1.24, P = 5.22 × 10-12). Caudal Neuraxial Blocks for Pain Relief From Pelvic Neuropathy Caused by Extensive Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma.

Central neuraxial blocks can be a vital therapeutic tool for neuropathic pain, but they are infrequently implemented for pain management in cancer patients. Upon a literature review, further data on the role or efficacy of central nerve blocks for neuropathic cancer pain would be beneficial. Additionally, evidence-based guidelines and practices are lacking regarding additional interventions for neuropathic pain relief, a common manifestation of cancer burden. Here, we report the case of a 29-year-old male patient who presented in the ED with intractable neuropathic pain from extensive diffuse

Correlation Between the Hepatitis C Virus NS3 Protein and CD30 Expression in Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma.

INTRODUCTION: One of the etiologies of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) is chronic infection related to lymphoma pathogenesis, with a high prevalence of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection seen. In determining the treatment and prognosis of NHL, cluster of differentiation 30 (CD30) immunohistochemical staining plays an important role. High levels of CD30 are found in patients with HCV infection. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of CD30 and HCV expression and its correlation with clinicopathological characteristics of Indonesian diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) patients. METHODS: A to

CD58 Alterations Govern Antitumor Immune Responses by Inducing PDL1 and IDO in Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma.

Recurrent abnormalities in immune surveillance-related genes affect the progression of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and modulate the response to therapeutic interventions. CD58 interacts with the CD2 receptor on T cells and NK cells and is recurrently mutated and deleted in DLBCL, suggesting that it may play a role in regulating antitumor immunity. In this study, we comprehensively analyzed the genomic characteristics of CD58 through targeted next-generation sequencing, RNA sequencing (RNA-seq), whole-exome sequencing, and single-cell RNA-seq in patients with newly diagnosed DLBCL. A Common Symptom With an Uncommon Diagnosis: A Case of Primary Esophageal Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma.

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Although it can have gastrointestinal involvement, there are limited recorded cases that show primary esophageal DLBCL. This report discusses the case of an 85-year-old female who initially presented with weight loss associated with dysphagia and was later diagnosed with an esophageal mass by endoscopy. Pathology showed large, atypical lymphocytes, and the final morphologic, immunohistochemical, and molecular findings were most consistent with a diagnosis of primary esophageal DLBCL.

A novel anoikis-related signature predicts prognosis risk and treatment responsiveness in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.

BACKGROUND: Although anoikis plays a role in cancer metastasis and aggressiveness, it has rarely been reported in diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL). METHODS: We obtained RNA sequencing data and matched clinical data from the GEO database. An anoikis-related genes (ARGs)-based risk signature was developed in GSE10846 training cohort and validated in three other cohorts. Additionally, we predicted half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) of drugs based on bioinformatics method and obtained the actual IC50 to some chemotherapy drugs via cytotoxicity assay. RESULTS: The high-risk group,

[The care pathway of patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma described through Italian administrative healthcare data.].

INTRODUCTION: The diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (Dlbcl) is the most common non-Hodgkin lymphoma and at highest incidence among the elderly. Despite the improved outcomes of patients treated with the first-line (1L) standard of care until the end of 2022, composed by rituximab and polychemotherapy (R-Chop), during the last 20 years, the rate of relapsed and refractory Dlbcl (rrDlbcl) remains elevated. This study has identified and analyzed patients newly diagnosed with Dlbcl and treated with 1L, from the perspective of the Italian National Health Service (Ssn). METHODS: From the administrative

Identification of a prognostic signature based on five ferroptosis-related genes for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.

BACKGROUND: Therapies for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) are limited due to the diverse gene expression profiles and complicated immune microenvironments, making it an aggressive lymphoma. Beyond this, researches have shown that ferroptosis contributes to tumorigenesis, progression, and metastasis. We thus are interested to dissect the connection between ferroptosis and disease status of DLBCL. We aim at generating a valuable prognosis gene signature for predicting the status of patients of DLBCL, with focus on ferroptosis-related genes (FRGs). OBJECTIVE: To examine the connection betw

Progress in deciphering the role of p53 in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma: mechanisms and therapeutic targets.

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common lymphoma subtype, accounting for 30%-40% of non-Hodgkin lymphoma in adults. The mechanisms underlying DLBCL occurrence are extremely complex, and involve the B-cell receptor (BCR) and Toll-like receptor (TLR) signaling pathways, as well as genetic abnormalities and other factors. With the development of high-throughput sequencing, an increasing number of abnormal genes have been identified in DLBCL. Among them, the tumor protein p53 (TP53/p53) gene is important in DLBCL occurrence. Patients with DLBCL carrying TP53 gene abnormalities gen
