Aquaporin-2 (AQP2) water channel mutations cause autosomal recessive and dominant nephrogenic diabetes insipidus. BeWo is a choriocarcinoma cell line that generates an extracellular matrix (ECM) rich in laminin and is a useful model for human trophoblast. Clinical evaluation was conducted to ascertain whether thyrotropin receptor antibody (TRAb) in the normal range may still be involved in the regulation of thyroid function after prolonged treatment for Graves' disease. All patients (n = 33) were treated with antithyroid drugs for an average of 10.6 years and were under euthyroid conditions in which normal blood levels of tri-iodothyronine (T3) were significantly correlated with blood thyrotropin (TSH) levels, but not with titers of TRAb. A significant correlation was observed between TRAb titer and thyroid-stimulating antibody (TSAb) activity.

Hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL) is responsible for the neutral cholesterol ester hydrolase activity in macrophages. This study describes the production and characterization of a monoclonal antibody (mAb) against the alkaline phosphatase of Schistosoma mansoni from splenocytes of chronically infected mice. Convenient selection of the mAb was achieved using the catalytic activity of the antigen in a developed enzyme-antigen immunoassay. The serum of patients with pigeon breeder's lung (PBL) contains IgG-class antibodies against pigeon serum proteins. These antibodies cross-react strongly with the sera of other avian species.
