Lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV) cases are currently re-emerging in the homosexual community, particularly in HIV-seropositive patients. The standard treatment for this infection, which is caused by Chlamydia trachomatis L1, L2 and L3 serotypes, is a 3-week doxycycline regimen. The case is reported of a male patient presenting with LGV, who was rapidly cured with moxifloxacin treatment after failure of extended treatment with cyclines. Anaerobic paraproctitis (AP) was seen in 8.6% of 1057 cases with acute paraproctitis. Severe general condition of the patient, vast damage, fetid wound secretion, extensive detachment and necrosis of tissues were the main AP symptoms. AIM: To assess immediate and late results of Parks operation in the treatment of severe radiation rectitis.
PATIENTS AND METHOD: Retrospective review of clinical histories of 35 patients with uterine cervical cancer, 5 with endometrial cancer and one with vaginal cancer that received radiotherapy. Two years as a mean after radiotherapy, 14 women had rectal bleeding, 19 fistulae, 7 stenosis and 1 a rectal ulceration. All were initially treated with a discharge colostomy and after a mean interval of 1.6 years, a Parks operation was performed.

A complex clinico-laboratory++ examination and treatment were made of 76 women with inflammatory processes in the urogenital tract. Gonorrhea, trichomoniasis, chlamydiosis and Ureaplasma infection were detected in 60, 31.4, 41 and 14 per cent of the cases, respectively.
