Giant perineal condyloma acumenatum, also known as Buschke Lowenstein tumor is a rare sexually transmitted disease caused by Human Papillomavirus. Our case demonstrates an uneventful removal of a large condylomatous lesion in a 18 year-old woman at 17 weeks of gestation. Wound healing was satisfying. Best prevention remains HPV vaccination.

We report the case of a young man who has never had any sexual contact presenting with a large scrotal lump with secondary bacterial infection. He reported no prior warts - genital or cutaneous. Condyloma acuminatum is a benign tumor principally resulting from a human papillomavirus type 6 or 11 infection. The lesions mostly damage the genital and perianal squamous epithelium and skin but occasionally emerge outside the perianal and genital regions. BACKGROUND: Human papillomavirus, one of the most common viral infections worldwide, frequently manifests as condyloma acuminata, or anogenital warts. First-line treatment of this condition includes the use of imiquimod, a topical immunomodulator.
CASE: We describe a case of a localized skin ulceration necessitating surgical debridement after the use of topical imiquimod for 24 hours in a patient with uncontrolled type 2 diabetes mellitus. After debridement, the patient's wound healed appropriately, with regular wound clinic visits and diabetes education.

Although there is a strong evidence of prevalence of condylomata in the HIV-positive population, literature on HIV prevalence in HIV-unscreened population diagnosed with condylomata is still unconclusive. Our aim is to review literature about HIV screening and diagnosis of anal condylomata in order to evaluate medical aspects, ethical and legal issues concerning the management of this disease. We undertook an online search on Pubmed for the keywords "HIV", "screening" and "anal condylomata" and 23 papers were analysed, 2 being randomized controlled trial, 11 comparative studies and 10 reviews.

HPV infection affects about 50% of sexually active individuals at least once in a lifetime. Diagnosis is made on careful inspection of the genital area and can be divided into benign lesions (genital warts or condyloma acuminatum) and pre-malignant lesions (intraepithelial neoplasia) that can lead to cancer (invasive neoplasia). Diagnostic recommendations are reviewed in Male, Female, Couple and in the immunocompromised host. Recent histological concepts are also discussed.

Treatment of anogenital warts was successful in an 11-year-old child with sinecatechins ointment 10%. After application for 10 weeks, the warts completely disappeared, without recurrence during a 12-week follow-up. Treatment was well tolerated, without notable side effects. Sinecatechins appear to be a reasonable treatment for anogenital warts in children who have difficulty tolerating painful destructive therapy.
