BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: To report the results of trabeculectomy with adjunctive intraoperative mitomycin C in Chinese patients with glaucoma.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: The medical records of Chinese patients who received trabeculectomy with intraoperative mitomycin C from 1992 to 1998 were retrospectively reviewed. A "successful" trabeculectomy was defined as one after which the intraocular pressure (IOP) could be controlled to between 5 and 21 mm Hg, inclusive, with no more than 3 glaucoma medications.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the intraocular pressure level, the change of anterior chamber angle and the occurrence of secondary glaucoma after anterior chamber intraocular lens (AC-IOL) implantation.
METHODS: Sixty-two AC-IOL implanted eyes were followed up postoperatively for 3 months to 7 years (mean 31 months). The examination of anterior chamber angle was emphasized. The type of cataract mainly included senile and traumatic. The operation performed were lensectomy with anterior vitrectomy or extracapsular cataract extraction (ECCE) combined with primary or secondary AC-IOL implantation.

PURPOSE: To assess the role of lens parameters in the detection and progression of primary angle-closure disease (PACD) by combining A-scan and A-scan optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) parameters.
METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted in a tertiary health-care center in eastern India. A total of 91 study subjects including cases and controls were included in the study. The parameters studied were lens thickness (LT), lens axial factor (LAF), relative lens position (RLP), and lens vault (LV). METHODS: The Yunnan Minority Eye Study was a multi-ethnic community-based eye survey using random cluster sampling strategies. 2133 Bai, 2205 Han and 2208 Yi Chinese aged 50 years or older participated in this study. OBJECTIVE: To study the prevalence of the systemic use of some common classes of medications by glaucoma patients and their relationship to the prevalence and severity of chronic open-angle glaucoma (COAG) and primary-angle closure glaucoma (PACG).

Goniosynechialysis (GSL) was performed in 70 eyes with primary angle-closure glaucoma in which the intraocular pressure (IOP) could not be controlled with laser or surgical iridectomy.
