Adams-Oliver syndrome is a rare congenital condition that should be considered in persons with terminal transverse limb deficiencies and scalp defects (aplasia cutis congenita). Broad phenotypic variability exists in this condition. In its more severe forms, Adams-Oliver syndrome can involve the cardiovascular system, central nervous system, gastrointestinal tract, and genitourinary system and should require prompt evaluation by appropriate subspecialists. Extremity involvement is typically bilateral and asymmetrical, with lower extremities involved more than upper extremities. Brachydactyly i

We describe the case of a 73-year-old woman with type 2 diabetes presenting with ulcers and ostelytic lesions on distal phalanges of left hand, who was diagnosed with the rare "ulcero-mutilating" variant of carpal tunnel syndrome. A review of literature on cutaneous manifestations associated with the syndrome is also presented.

INTRODUCTION: Trichophyton tonsurans is an anthropophilic dermatophyte, frequent in the USA and in Asia where it is responsible for causing tinea capitis. At present, we attend an emergence of this species in certain regions where it was not or little met. Here, we report a case of onychomycosis of the hand due to T. tonsurans associated with non-albicans Candida species at an adult woman.
OBSERVATION: The patient is a 62-year-old woman, with hypertension and diabetes. She reports the rather frequent use of chemical cleaners for the housework. She presented one year previously a distal onycho

Pityriasisrosea is a frequently encountered skin disease associated with typical erythematous-squamous lesions. Majority of the cases relate to patients between 10 and 35 years of age. In clinically typical cases, the disease appears with the initial lesion called herald patch. The initial lesion generally locates on trunk, neck and proximal extremities. However, it can rarely be seen on other body parts such as face, scalp, and genital region. The initial lesion located on palmar region has been just once presented in literature. In this study, we present a 22-year-old female patient with pal

BACKGROUND: Irritant contact dermatitis (ICD) is a common diagnosis in patients with occupational contact dermatitis (OCD). Studies are lacking on the usefulness of material safety data sheets (MSDSs) in making the diagnosis of ICD.
OBJECTIVE: To characterize irritant exposures leading to the diagnosis of occupational ICD (OICD), and to evaluate the occurrence of concomitant exposures to contact allergens.
METHODS: We included 316 patients with suspected occupational hand dermatitis, referred to the Department of Dermato-Allergology, Copenhagen University Hospital Gentofte, Denmark during Ja
