Choline covalently coupled to an insoluble support was used in a radioimmunoassay to detect IgE antibodies to suxamethonium in serum samples from patients who experienced life-threatening anaphylactoid reactions after receiving the drug. Direct binding and inhibition experiments and correlations with clinical findings showed that use of choline in such an assay is relevant to the detection of suxamethonium-reactive antibodies. The ability of penicillins of varying lipophilicity to induce and elicit cellular allergic responses were analysed in guinea pigs. Epicutaneous application of the penicillins benzylpenicillin (Bp), cloxacillin (Clox) and Bacampicillin (Bamp) did not cause any unspecific skin irritation. A maximization test (after Magnusson & Kligman 1970), a single injection adjuvant test (SIAT) and a modified Draize test procedure for assessing contact sensitization potential in guinea-pigs have been compared for their ability to detect 19 known human contact sensitizers. In 20 out of 94 cases of selected patients suffering from various thyroid diseases antibodies against thyroxine and trijodthyronine were detected. OBJECTIVE: To immunize rabbits with 12 and 16 kDa recombinant subunits of antigen B from Echinococcus granulosus (E. granulosus) and measuring polyclonal antibody and humoral immune response using ELISA and gel diffusion.
METHODS: Two mentioned antigens were cloned and expressed in expression vector and purified by affinity chromatography. Four young rabbits were selected and challenged intradermally with yielded recombinant antigens. The present report describes experimental studies on the proteolytic activity of the secretion on the surface of okra pods and the allergenicity of okra components, to clarify the etiology of skin lesions due to okra.
