This report describes a paediatric patient presenting with haemodynamically stable non-sustained ventricular tachycardia 1 day after minor blunt chest trauma. Initial laboratory studies, chest X-ray and echocardiography were normal; however, cardiac MRI revealed precordial haematoma, myocardial contusion and small pericardial effusion. The authors report an altered geometrical configuration of some basal body cylinder in a normal, apparently healthy cow. Defective basal bodies of the so-called 'half-centriole' are described. Only one microtubular pattern is composed of ten triplets encircling an apparently symmetric lumen. In medical literature there are a few documented cases of basal body cylinder defects. Most of them have been described in ciliary pathology. This paper deals with the first cases of basal body abnormalities observed in a healthy domestic animal.

Spontaneous and experimentally induced twinning and conjoined placentation were studied in Swiss-Webster (SW) mice. Conjoined placentation was noticed at a rate of 0.4% for twins and 0.06% for triplets. Placentally conjoined embryos were either symmetrical or asymmetrical. A single spontaneous monozygotic conjoined twin was observed among 2,000 blastocysts cultured in vitro. The yield of twins could not be increased by manipulating explanted embryos in vitro, or by treating in utero during the early postimplantation stage of development with vincristine.

OBJECTIVE: To compare the multiple pregnancy rates of frozen-thawed embryos transfer (FET) or fresh embryos transfer, analyze the factors related to multiple pregnancies after IVF and study pregnancy rates with different number of embryos transferred in FET cycle.
