In 1999, Slovenia increased iodine content in kitchen salt from 10 mg to 25 mg of potassium iodide per kg of salt. The aim of the present study was to determine associations between the occurrence of PBDEs in breast milk of women and their demographic parameters. Participants were randomly recruited from the general population in southern Taiwan. Thirty two breast milk samples were collected and subsequently 30 congeners of PBDEs were analyzed using a high resolution gas chromatograph with a high resolution mass spectrometer. The present study was made to isolate and assess some physiological characteristics of root nodule-colonizing fungi. During this study, 17 fungal species were isolated from root nodule samples taken from faba bean plants (Vicia faba L.) collected from different sites at Assiut area (Egypt). Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) with 0.1 and 0.4 mg Pt cm-2 cathode catalyst loadings were separately contaminated with seven organic species: Acetonitrile, acetylene, bromomethane, iso-propanol, methyl methacrylate, naphthalene, and propene. Sprague-Dawley rats were exposed by inhalation to 2-BP at a concentration of 0 (control), 125, 250, 500, or 1000 ppm for 6 h per day, 7 days per week during 2 weeks of the pre-mating period, during the mating period until copulation and during the period of gestation days 0-19. The hybrid semiconducter-macrocycle catalyst TiO2-cobalt phthalocyanine promotes the solar photolysis of aqueous bromoform under anaerobic conditions. The major decomposition products are dibromoethane and HBr. Bromomethane and methane were produced only after prolonged photolysis (30 hr). Acetone, derived from added 2-propanol, was the only observed oxidation product. Preliminary experiments showed that electrolytic reduction of aqueous carbon tetrachloride at a vitamin B12-modified silver electrode produced the expected lower homologues but with surprisingly high yields of methane.

This work focuses on the neurophysiological features in a patient with action myoclonus and mental deterioration following methylbromide intoxication. The patient is a 28-year-old man, without respiratory distress or exposure to other toxics. Myoclonus improved with polytherapy (clonazepam, 5-HT, carbidopa, GABA). The neurophysiological and neuropsychological evidence in this patient suggests a possible double site of action of methylbromide at cortical and subcortical levels.

In five patients with inappropriate lactation and amenorrhoea or impotence brom-ergocryptine was found to suppress the lactation and to diminish the raised plasma prolactin levels.
