PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to analyze the outcome of treating epidemic keratoconjunctivitis (EKC) with 2% povidone-iodine (PVP-I) solution.

PURPOSE: To examine the effect of an internet-based aid to informed consent on parent recall of potential surgical complications.
METHODS: Parents of children scheduled for elective inguinal hernia repair were assigned to a control group or were enrolled in an internet-based program designed to aid in the consent process. We reported 37 patients with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) of refractory cytopenia with multilineage dysplasia or refractory anemia with excess blasts who were treated with cyclosporin A (CyA)/thalidomide combination therapy. BACKGROUND: Periodontal diseases are inflammatory diseases resulting in the destruction of tissues of the periodontium. Although bacteria must be present for periodontal disease to occur, a susceptible host is also required, which is determined by genetic, environmental, and acquired factors. One such factor, autoimmunity, may play a role in the tissue destruction.
