The purpose of this study was to investigate the mechanisms whereby an endothelium-dependent vasodilator, acetylcholine, a nitrovasodilator, sodium nitroprusside and atrial natriuretic factor (atriopeptin II), elevate cyclic GMP levels and induce relaxation in rat thoracic aorta.
