We herein report a case of a 50-year-old male with hematemesis due to the rupture from esophageal varices coexisting with multiple liver tumors metastasizing from sigmoid colon cancer. We present an 18-year-old man with painless rectal bleeding, hematuria and diffuse cavernous hemangioma of the rectum and sigmoid colon. Thirty units of blood were transfused during the interval preceding definitive surgery. Low anterior resection and partial cystectomy were performed. During the postoperative period no rectal bleeding occurred, but he died of massive intracerebral bleeding 10 months after the operation.

The outlook for patients with colorectal liver metastases remains poor, survival in our hospital being only 6 months. The results of conventional treatment are disappointing. With the advent of implantable silicone catheters and small portable pumps, regional chemotherapy is more frequently administered, although complications relating to the catheter do occur. From 1965 to 1987, 230 polypectomies were performed in patients between 8 month to 16 years old, 147 boys and 83 girls.
