Goldman perimetric field examination was done on 42 glaucomatous eyes, with aphakic spectacles and a soft lens correction. There was a 79% +/- 20% SD overall average enhancement of field size with the soft lens, but the difference varied linearly as a direct function of the initial spectacle field size. There appears to be a significant advantage to the patient in the use of soft lens correction for serial peripheral field measurements.

The method of laser-microsurgery for restoration of lost anterior chamber in aphakic pupillary block and malignant glaucoma is once more reported. The problems of the flattened anterior chamber are discussed. Principle, technique, and indication of laser-coagulation of the iris are demonstrated. A short discussion of the method, description of late observations and instructions for postoperative treatment are given. In each of the 23 eyes this dangerous postoperative complication could be abolished in a simple manner without any risk. This operation must be considered as the method of choice.

A late adolescent girl presented with medically uncontrolled glaucoma and aphakia post-fire-cracker injury to the right eye. She underwent single-loop fixation of the posterior chamber intraocular lens (IOL) and Ahmed glaucoma valve (AGV) implantation with reduction of intraocular pressure (IOP) in the immediate postoperative period.
