A direct radioimmunoassay (RIA) for the quantitation of Retrovir (zidovudine, azidothymidine, AZT) in biological fluids has been developed. The assay is sensitive with an I50 value of about 30 nM and with a lower limit of detection of about 3 nM. Intra-assay precision gave sample coefficients of variation that ranged from 1.77 to 8.65% for the standard curve with human plasma. Inter-assay precision and accuracy were within acceptable limits. Uterine leiomyomas are benign smooth muscle cell tumors originating from the myometrium. OBJECTIVE: To immunize rabbits with 12 and 16 kDa recombinant subunits of antigen B from Echinococcus granulosus (E. granulosus) and measuring polyclonal antibody and humoral immune response using ELISA and gel diffusion.
METHODS: Two mentioned antigens were cloned and expressed in expression vector and purified by affinity chromatography. Four young rabbits were selected and challenged intradermally with yielded recombinant antigens. We have found an increase of a 38-kDa plasma protein level from 10 to 30 days in rats on a magnesium-deficient diet (Mg; 0.001 per cent), using sodium dodecylsulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE).
