Non-Hodgkin lymphomas (NHL) in children are the second most common malignant tumors in Kuwait. Until 1995 the patients (pts) received institutional protocols. From October 1995 to September 2000 21 children with NHL were treated. Five children were treated by NHL BFM 90 protocol, 7 pts received NHL BFM 95 scheme, and 9 children underwent therapy abroad or according to different types of protocols. We hereby present a case of pre-treated unresectable sarcoma recurrence of the trunk which showed an excellent response to concomitant tri-modal therapy, consisting of re-irradiation, chemotherapy and regional hyperthermia even with a strong compromised re-irradiation dose. No significant toxicity of the combined therapy and fast achievement of the pain and neurological symptoms relief are reported. The case shows that concurrent tri-modality treatment can be considered as a therapeutic option for the management of pre-treated unresectable recurrence even in there-irradiation setting.

Patients with primary mediastinal nonseminomatous germ cell tumors have a poor prognosis, with a 5-year overall survival of nearly 50%. We investigated the feasibility and activity of early high-dose chemotherapy (HDCT) in these patients. We present the case of a 13-year-old boy, CJ, with profound episodic memory difficulties following the diagnosis of a metastatic intracranial germ cell tumour and subsequent treatment with radiotherapy and chemotherapy. At the core of this study is the first application of SenseCam to a child with severe memory impairment. CJ was taken for a walk while he was wearing SenseCam. This included visiting four different locations. We manipulated the number of locations he could review on SenseCam "films" and then tested recognition memory (forced choice) for both reviewed and non-reviewed locations.

True histiocytic lymphomas (THLs) are rare tumors in which the malignant cells show morphologic and immunophenotypic evidence of histiocytic differentiation.
