We report an unusual case of perforation of a congenital fibrosarcoma of the jejunum in utero and secondary meconium peritonitis. Prenatal ultrasound showed polyhydramnios and fetal ascites from 25 gestational weeks in the absence of other fetal congenital anomalies. A 2200 g baby girl was born at 34 weeks gestation, presenting with severe generalized edema and respiratory distress immediately after birth. We used a laparoscopic technique for the percutaneous placement of the peritoneal end of cerebrospinal fluid shunts in adult patients with obstructive or normal-pressure hydrocephalus. Serious complications following gynecologic laparoscopy are rare. We report a case of a 24-year-old woman who had a common iliac artery and vein injured by the trocar, resulting in deep shock. The arterial lesion was repaired with an allograft and the vein sutured. The patient recovered with light sequelae. The literature was reviewed and we found 15 cases described in varying detail.
