The skin of patients with atopic dermatitis (AD) is in a state of dysbiosis, having a microbiome of reduced diversity dominated by exacerbators such as Staphylococcus aureus and by fungal taxa such as Malassezia. As the symptoms of AD improve, microbial diversity increases and the level of colonization by exacerbators decreases. The level of skin colonization is correlated with scores on AD evaluation indices, thus the goal of AD treatment is to improve dysbiosis. Although Malassezia species exacerbate AD, they also secrete proteases that inhibit the formation of biofilm by Staphylococcus aure…

The off-label use of dupilumab has proven to be an effective treatment option for severe chronic actinic dermatitis (CAD). We present the first case of CAD presenting with dupilumab-induced erythrodermic psoriasiform dermatitis. A modified, spaced dupilumab dosing regimen, combined with cyclosporine, successfully managed both conditions, offering a promising strategy for managing dupilumab adverse effects while maintaining control over chronic actinic dermatitis.

Palisaded neutrophilic granulomatous dermatitis (PNGD) and interstitial granulomatous dermatitis (IGD) are rare granulomatous disorders. Differential diagnosis of PNGD and IGD is often difficult, but both conditions occasionally exist together. We report here the first potential overlapping case of PNGD, IGD, and Immunoglobulin A (IgA) vasculitis associated with incomplete Sjögren's syndrome. An 81-year-old woman who had been followed up for interstitial pneumonia and incomplete Sjögren's syndrome was referred to our clinic. She had multiple erythematous plaques and nodules on her entire body …

BACKGROUND: Patch testing is an important diagnostic tool for suspected allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) in occupational settings.
OBJECTIVE: Provide an overview of occupational skin disease (OSD) and an analysis of occupational ACD in North American patients undergoing patch testing between 2001and 2016.
METHODS: Patients with OSD were analyzed for frequency of allergic reactions to a screening series of allergens, occupational relevance, location of skin disease, and exposure sources. Demographic, occupation, and industry information were recorded.
RESULTS: Of 38,614 patients evaluated, …
