The aim of the present study was to examine approximal enamel surfaces in the scanning electron microscope (SEM). Thirty premolars developed and erupted in an 'optimally' fluoridated (1 ppm) community had clinical indications of dental fluorosis and early signs of dental caries corresponding to the approximal contact area. Mucopolysaccharidosis type I (MPS I) is a lysosomal storage disorder characterised by the deficient activity of iduronidase and by the presence of MPS vacuoles in many tissues of affected patients. Biochemical analyses and electron microscopy of mitral valve collagen were carried out in 29 patients with various mitral valve diseases. A comparative study of the quantitative data of the frog extraocular muscles and the cranial nerves that innervate them was performed. Needle aspiration was performed on a breast mass in a 91-year-old woman. The cytologic features in the aspirate were a diffuse, prominent, intracytoplasmic vacuolization and secretion in malignant cells and occasional signet ring-like forms. This was confirmed in a subsequent cell block which was made from the aspirate. The surface structure of non-spherical natural and spherical polymeric charcoal as well as the composition of blood cells in peripheral blood was studied in 52 patients with hepatorenal syndrome using the scanning electron microscope.
