Overall fifty-five patients with myocardial infarction were examined. Activation of free radical oxidation of lipids and decrease in activity of enzymes of the antioxidant defence were especially pronounced in those patients with myocardial infarction presenting with acute left ventricular failure. Captopril administered by 6.25 mg daily increasing the dose to 37.5 mg a day over 2-3 days improves parameters characterizing central and cardiohemodynamics and has a beneficial effect on lipid peroxidation. The influence of the intravenously infusion of plasma substitute solution from the whey on the some indices of the lipid metabolism and the lipid peroxidation were studied in the experiments on the model of ileus. Resive data indicate the considerable alteration of the lipid peroxidation under ileus. The infusion therapy of the solution from the whey decreased the level of lipoperoxides and malondialdehyde in the liver and reduced the level of beta-lipoproteins in serum of blood.

Reactivity of organism was studied in a total of 48 patients with chronic duodenitis, actually in the zone of increased radiation. Hypo- and normotensive type reactions were found to prevail, each having its peculiar clinical picture. While studying the lipid peroxidation- and antioxidant defence systems, changes were identified in those parameters characterizing the above systems, their degree being higher in blood leukocytes. It is recommended that the data obtained be used for determining a correcting therapy.

The ability of a biomimetic superoxide dismutase agent, copper(II)(3,5-diisopropylsalicylate)2 (CuDIPS), to modulate benzoyl peroxide (BzPo)-induced tumor promotion and progression in mouse skin multistage carcinogenesis was evaluated.
