Both infundibular pulmonic stenosis with a bicuspid pulmonic valve and a spontaneously ruptured tricuspid valve are infrequent cardiac anomalies to come across in day-to-day cardiology practice. We are writing about a middle-aged woman who presented with a spontaneous rupture of the tricuspid valve chordae, most probably secondary to right ventricular pressure overload from an infundibular pulmonic stenosis with a bicuspid pulmonic valve. A successful surgical repair relieved her of her symptoms.

Osteitis fibrosa cystica is a skeletal disorder seen in advanced stages of persistent hyperparathyroidism. Although the measurement of serum Ca and intact-parathormone levels provides early diagnosis and decreases the incidence of radiographic bone involvement, progressive major bone lesions may still be seen in developing countries even in the modern era. We aimed to share, by writing up this report, our astonishment after observing how the skeletal system can be ruined by persistent hyperparathyroidism.

Inguinal herniorrhaphy is the most common general surgical operation performed. Although fatty protrusions are often observed along the path of the spermatic cord, true lipomas are not commonly reported. We encountered a 42-year-old male patient who developed a large lipoma of the right spermatic cord with indirect inguinal hernia. After herniorrhaphy and tumor excision, the patient had an uneventful convalescence. There has been no recurrence up to the time of writing (20 months).

Focal task-specific tremors besides primary writing tremor have rarely been reported in the literature. We describe nine cases of focal tremors induced by different specific tasks, involving a repetitive and frequently performed movement. Only one of these patients had a family history of any similar disorders. There was no overt dystonia in any of the cases, but these tremors may be forms of focal dystonia, rather than a manifestation of essential tremor.

A 35-year-old woman developed neurological signs over several weeks after a symptom-free rubella infection. Rubella encephalitis was diagnosed from a significant rise in rubella virus antibodies and the demonstration of IgM antibodies. Slow improvement in the neurological defects began not earlier than in the 16th week of illness. Severe defects of speaking, reading, writing and calculating as well as mild disorders of affect still persisted eight months after onset of the illness.

We present a case of endogenous fungal endophthalmitis in a nondiabetic, nonhypertensive patient who recovered from COVID-19 infection. Endogenous fungal endophthalmitis in an immunocompetent individual is quite uncommon. The organism in our patient was resistant to amphotericin and voriconazole and was successfully treated with intravitreal caspofungin. The rarity of an opportunistic nosocomial infection in an immunocompetent person with a drug-resistant organism prompted us to write this report.

Between 1878 and 1893, Jean-Martin Charcot published over twenty detailed case histories dealing with what he termed "traumatic hysteria" and what today would be labelled the psychoneurology of trauma. Charcot's cases record a highly diverse clinique tableau of symptoms. In qualitative research, the researcher can be considered the research instrument, in which our positionality influences our interactions with participants and our interpretations of the data. Yet, the effect of this process on the researcher is less emphasized. In this essay, I describe the experience of writing my master's thesis about sexual assault survivors' privacy management in romantic relationships, asking how we manage these embodied experiences (and our disclosures of such) as scholars.

Dyslexia involves extreme difficulty with reading, writing, and spelling in your native language despite at least average intelligence. Health literacy refers to the ability to read, understand, and use health information to make appropriate health decisions. Dyslexia is rarely mentioned as a contributing factor to health literacy. Medical providers should be more aware of the special needs of dyslexic patients and implement interventions to allow them to successfully navigate the healthcare environment.

Our goals in writing this article are to facilitate understanding of issues related to (1) why anterior fixation for thoracolumbar fractures are an important tool for managing these injuries, (2) when to perform these as a single procedure, or in combination with other procedures such as vertebrectomy and/or posterior stabilization and fusion, (3) to appreciate the biomechanical and design-related issues of available systems, and (4) what the clinical outcomes are following these procedures.

Dyslexia is a primary development disorder characterized by reading and writing disability. Although frequent, it remains underdetected at school and badly known by practitioners. As a consequence, many children remain severely handicapped in their school life, and later on in their adult social life, although being fairly intelligent. Pediatricians must be involved in its early detection and management. ERTL4 test is a useful test of detection to be applied in 5-7-year-old children.

Rehabilitation nursing focus on assisting patients to reconstruct their health. We trained 21 cases of aphasia after operation with different types of early comprehensive speech reconstruction exercises, including hearing, speaking, reading and writing. We achieved expected results. Anomia aphasia has the best outcome, next is motor and sensory aphasia, and combined aphasia is less effective. In addition, patients with aphasia before surgery got slightly better rehabilitation than those whose aphasia was resulted from surgery.
