A patient had a localized, persistent vesicular eruption of the feet that was clinically identical to dyshidrosiform dermatitis. Direct and indirect immunofluorescent studies revealed a bullous pemphigoid (BP) pattern. Antibody blocking experiments showed the patient's circulating basement membrane zone antibody to be identical to that of classical BP. Possible pathogenetic mechanisms of localized BP are discussed.

A simple micro-computer program was used to analyse the results of testing 501 consecutive patients attending a patch test clinic. 64% of males and 71% of females had positive tests; 17% of males and 12% of females had occupational dermatitis; 16% of males and 15% of females had irritant contact dermatitis; and 13% of males and 19% of females had a history of atopic eczema.

We report a case of amelanotic acral melanoma in a 42-year-old Chinese woman. Ten months previously the patient found a 2-cm asymmetric erythematous macular plaque on her left sole. The lesion was diagnosed as verruca plantaris by every physician the patient consulted. One month ago, an enlarged lymph node was detected in the left groin, which biopsy reported as metastatic melanoma. Here we report the case of a patient with cutaneous leishmaniasis, who was referred to our clinic in Yazd, Iran. On examining the patient, who was a housekeeper, we found a small plaque in the palmoplantar region due to cutaneous leishmaniasis. She had not any history from an identical case in this patient. After treatment, the lesions improved.
