Overview of systemic therapy options in liposarcoma, with a focus on the activity of selinexor, a selective inhibitor of nuclear export in dedifferentiated liposarcoma.

Liposarcoma (LPS) is a common soft tissue sarcoma that encompasses diverse subtypes of well-differentiated/dedifferentiated, myxoid/round cell, and pleomorphic LPS. There is heterogeneity among the various LPS types with regard to prognosis, molecular pathogenesis, and response to treatment. Well-differentiated (WDLPS) and dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DDLPS) are most common types, which share common genetic alteration of chromosome 12q13-15 amplification resulting in amplification of oncogenes, including MDM2 (Mouse double minute 2), CDK4 (cyclin-dependent kinase 4), and HMGA2 (High mobility

Newly developed multiple myeloma in a patient with primary T-cell lymphoma of bone.

Primary non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of bone (PLB) is rare, and generally presents as a single extensive and destructive bone lesion. Histopathologically, most cases present as diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, and T-cell lymphoma is rare. By contrast, multiple myeloma is a disease defined as the neoplastic proliferation of a single clone of plasma cells producing a monoclonal immunoglobulin. We report a case of multiple myeloma that developed during treatment of PLB in a type of T-cell. A 48-yr-old man was diagnosed as T-cell PLB, stage IE, 18 months ago. The impact of renal dysfunction after critical illness on the management of cancer.

A 67-year-old male patient with limited-stage diffuse large B-cell lymphoma was on an R-CHOP (rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine and prednisone) chemotherapy regimen. His Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) Performance Scale score was zero, indicating functional independence for activities of daily living. Co-Encapsulation of Multiple Antineoplastic Agents in Liposomes by Exploring Microfluidics.

The inherent complexity of cancer proliferation and malignancy cannot be addressed by the conventional approach of relying on high doses of a single powerful anticancer agent, which is associated with poor efficacy, higher toxicity, and the development of drug resistance. Multiple drug therapy (MDT) rationally designed to target tumor heterogeneity, block alternative survival pathways, modulate the tumor microenvironment, and reduce toxicities would be a viable solution against cancer. Liposomes are the most suitable carrier for anticancer MDT due to their ability to encapsulate both hydrophil

Characterization and treatment outcomes of malignant histiocytoses in a retrospective series of 141 cases in France.

AbstractMalignant histiocytoses (MH) are rare and poorly understood cancers, with no established therapeutic guidelines. We conducted a national retrospective study of MH diagnosed in France between 2000 and 2023. All cases underwent centralized histological review, and several malignant tumors with a stroma highly enriched in histiocytes were excluded. In total, 141 patients were included, with a median age of 62 years (range, 1-87). The cases comprised either primary MH (64%) or MH associated with other hematologic malignancies (36%).
