We report a case of multiple ileal diverticula causing an ileovesical fistula in an 85-year-old man. The patient was admitted for investigation and treatment of intractable urethrocystitis, which he had suffered for 5 years. Cystography showed an ileovesical fistula, and contrast study of the small bowel revealed about 80 diverticula in the ileum. The segment involved by diverticula was resected and a pathological diagnosis of diverticulitis leading to ileovesical fistula was confirmed. His postoperative clinical course was uneventful.

A 1-day-old boy who presented with an anorectal malformation (ARM) was found to have a segmental dilatation of the colon (SDC) associated with a typical congenital pouch colon (CPC) malformation. The distal colonic pouch terminated in a high colovesical fistula. The posterior portion of the perineal raphé was duplicated and ended in 2 anal dimples. Both dilated segments of the colon were excised. The similarity between CPC and SDC is highlighted, and the possible embryogenesis of both conditions is discussed.

In this rare condition, that could be congenital or acquired, there is an abnormal communication between the stomach and the duodenum. A rare case of faecal fistula resulting from undiagnosed abdominal pregnancy that had earlier co-existed with intrauterine conception. Both the extrauterine and intrauterine foetuses were well developed. Normal baby was delivered by emergency lower segment caesarian section 9 months before presentation with enterocutaneous fistula and sepsis.

This is the first report of palliative percutaneous treatment of a malignant duodenal stenosis due to cancer of the pancreatic head with Palmaz stents. A 65-year-old male with a malignant tumour of the pancreatic head developed an abscess with fistular communication to the cutis. In the subsequent course of the disease, tumour growth led to a severe duodenal stenosis. To dilate the tumorous stenosis, three Palmaz stents were introduced coaxially into the duodenum percutaneously, via the preexisting fistula. We present a case of gastrocolic fistula secondary to a benign gastric ulcer. In our Knowledge, this is the first reported case with an endoscopic diagnosis using the video-system; we did a complementary upper radiological series with oral contrast. This patient was treated with a subtotal gastrectomy and primary closure of the colonic defect.

A 71-year-old woman with a remote history of esophagogastric resection for malignancy developed abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. She died of shock 15 days after admission, during which time clinical investigation failed to reveal recurrent tumor or an ulcer. The autopsy revealed massive exsanguination secondary to a peptic-ulcer-induced aortoenteric fistula (AEF). The ulcer involved the third portion of the duodenum, was chronic, and complicated by growth of fungus. We review the literature on peptic-ulcer-related AEF.

Common complications of amebic liver abscesses include rupture into the thorax, pericardium, and peritoneum. Rupture into the gastrointestinal tract is extremely rare. We report a case of an amebic liver abscess rupturing into the duodenum, forming a wide fistulous tract. To our knowledge, this is the first case with radiological confirmation.
