Primary effusion lymphoma (PEL) is a rare and aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphoma that primarily involves body cavities and is characterized by human herpes virus-8 (HHV-8) positivity and the presence of immunoblastic, plasmablastic or anaplastic cells. HTLV-1 causes Adult T cell Leukemia/Lymphoma (ATLL) in humans. We describe an ATL-like disease in a 9 year-old female baboon naturally infected with STLV-1 (the simian counterpart of HTLV-1), with a lymphocyte count over 1010/L, lymphocytes with abnormal nuclear morphology, and pulmonary and skin lesions. Primary cutaneous γδ T-cell lymphoma (PCGD-TCL) is an extremely rare and aggressive T-cell neoplasm with complex heterogeneity. We present a series of two patients who presented with firm, subcutaneous nodules and were diagnosed with PCGD-TCL.
