BACKGROUND: The aim of this study is to determine whether Hypoxanthine Guanine Phosphoribosyltransferase (HPRT) could be used as a biomarker for the diagnosis and treatment of B cell malignancies. With 4.3% of all new cancers diagnosed as Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, finding new biomarkers for the treatment of B cell cancers is an ongoing pursuit. HPRT is a nucleotide salvage pathway enzyme responsible for the synthesis of guanine and inosine throughout the cell cycle.

IMM/Scrub is a pilot tool developed to assist in the deduplication of vaccination history records in childhood immunization registries. This problem is complicated by a number of factors including that fact that: (1) some doses are numbered and some are not, (2) doses may have different dose numbers, (3) doses may specify different preparations within a vaccine series, (4) one dose may indicate a combination vaccine and the other dose may specify one component of that combination, (5) two doses may have slightly different dates, and (6) combinations of any of these problems may occur together.

The proportion of the elderly in the population is increasing, and the appreciation and management of medical problems in this age group will therefore become more important. We therefore decided to determine the clinical features and types of pituitary tumour presenting in the elderly, and to examine the treatment and outcome in this group. We conducted a retrospective case-note review from a specialist endocrine and neurosurgical unit in a tertiary referral centre. Eighty-four patients aged 65 years and over on diagnosis of a pituitary tumour were referred to the unit between 1975 and 1996.

BACKGROUND: There is a need to more accurately enumerate workers with musculoskeletal injuries who make lost-time claims to workers compensation boards. The objective of this study is to develop an approach to more accurately enumerate these workers.
METHODS: Lost-time claims to the Ontario Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) were reviewed. Using neck pain as an example, nature of injury and part of body codes were identified to classify cases. Claims of a random sample of 434 claimants were reviewed. OBJECTIVE: Despite the fact that narcolepsy is a chronic disorder affecting younger people, there is insufficient information about its societal burden, time course, and familiar effect. We aimed to estimate the factual direct and indirect costs of narcolepsy patients and their families in a national sample using a controlled study design.
PATIENTS/METHODS: Using records from the Danish National Patient Registry (1997-2009), all 816 narcolepsy patients and their partners were identified and compared with 3254 randomly chosen controls matched for age, gender, geographic area, and civil status.

Using the Japanese DeSC claims database, we described pretreatment timelines for lecanemab initiation during early rollout (December 2023-December 2024). We identified 76 patients (mean age 74.6 years; 34.2% men) from 45 institutions. Mean time to first infusion was 103.9 days from cognitive assessment and 63.1 days from MRI. PET-to-infusion was 30.9 days, whereas cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) sampling-to-infusion was 85.8 days; the post-test interval remained longer after CSF (Bonferroni-adjusted p = 0.015).
