PURPOSE OF REVIEW: To synopsize the current state-of-the-art for radiation and treatment of painful bone metastases with a focus on prostate cancer.

Based on the fluorescence quenching of Terbium (III)-sodium hexametaphosphate (Tb/SHMP) chelates in the presence chromate (III), a sensitive fluorimetric method was developed for the determination of trace amounts of chromium (III) in aqueous solutions. Under the optimum conditions, the linear calibration graph was obtained (R = 0.996). The linear range and detection limit of Cr (III) were 7.69 × 10(-7) to 1.15 × 10(-4) mol L(-1) and 4.50 × 10(-7) mol L(-1), respectively. The synthesis and characterization of a series of first-row aryl transition metal derivatives of the simplest dialkylamido ligand NMe(2) are reported. Three clinical forms of cutaneous leishmaniasis can be found in Tunisia, i.e. the sporadic form due to Leishmania infantum in the North, the zoonotic epidemic form due to Leishmania major in the center and Southwest, and the chronic cutaneous form due to Leishmania tropica in the South. Unlike cutaneous forms, mucosal involvement is uncommon. The purpose of this report is to describe another case of mucosal leishmaniasis due to contiguity with a skin lesion in a 54-years-old woman. The patient responded well to treatment with meglumine antimoniate.

Reactions of M(CO)(6), where M=Cr and Mo with Schiff bases prepared by the condensation of ethanolamine with either acetylacetone or benzoylacetone were investigated. The reactions of Cr(CO)(6) in benzene resulted in the formation of the tricarbonyl drivatives [Cr(CO)(3)(HL)], HL=acaceaH or baceaH. The HL proved to act as a tridentate ligand. A new octahedral chromium(III) complex having 2,2'-bipyridine as ligand system was synthesized in methanol.
