INTRODUCTION: To evaluate therapeutic results till 5 years after therapy of obstructive pyelonephritis (OPN) emphasizing regular follow-up.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: During 5 years, 57 patients with OPN were treated. The patients' charts were reviewed retrospectively for clinical data. These were completed by a questionnaire.

BACKGROUND: Ureteroscopy is well-established as a primary treatment modality for urolithiasis. Ureteral avulsion, particularly complete or full-length avulsion with a resultant long segment of the ureter left attached to the ureteroscope, is a rare but devastating complication of the procedure. Living donor kidney transplantation (LD-KTX) is increasing worldwide. With the prevalence of urolithiasis ranging between 4% and 15%, the number of donors with current nephrolithiasis or a history of the disease will increase as well.
