How digital leadership fosters employee proactive behavior: A dual-pathway model based on job demands and resources.

BackgroundDigital leadership is increasingly recognized as critical to organizational digital transformation. How digital leadership fosters employee proactive behavior through job characteristics remains insufficiently understood.ObjectiveDrawing on Job Demands-Resources theory, this study develops and tests a dual-pathway model examining how digital leadership influences employee proactive behavior through digital job demands and digital job resources, with employee digital literacy as a boundary condition.MethodsData were collected through a three-wave time-lagged survey of 533 employees ac

An investigation into the role of driver characteristics in driving behaviours and subsequent clustering of Indian bus drivers.

OBJECTIVES: Aberrant driving behaviours among bus drivers cause serious concerns to safety on the road. The present study aimed to measure the effects of driver characteristics on aberrant and positive driving behaviours among bus drivers and to group drivers accordingly. The study was carried out among bus drivers of the government-owned road transport corporation in Kerala, India. METHODS: A total of 1120 drivers took part in the survey, out of which 617 drivers returned the forms with all questions answered (response rate = 55.1%). SPSS version 27.0 was used for analysis. RESULTS: Structu

Creation of pacemaker remote monitoring networks between hospital and pharmacies during Covid-19 outbreak.

INTRODUCTION: Remote Monitoring (RM) of Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDs) is proven to be safe and efficient. It has been adopted in our center since years. At the time of the recent Covid-19 outbreak, we introduced and tested a collaborative organizational model, through a new RM device (Totem), creating a network with the surrounding territory and limiting CIED patients' presence in hospital. METHODS: We involved 4 neighbor pharmacies where Totem devices were installed; we called and informed 64 patients with Totem compatible pacemaker (PM) about the possibility to perform thei

Mapping the 3D remodeling of the extracellular matrix in human hypertrophic scar by multi-parametric multiphoton imaging using endogenous contrast.

The hypertrophic scar is an aberrant form of wound healing process, whose clinical efficacy is limited by a lack of understanding of its pathophysiology. Remodeling of collagen and elastin fibers in the extracellular matrix (ECM) is closely associated with scar progression. Herein, we perform label-free multiphoton microscopy (MPM) of both fiber components from human skin specimens and propose a multi-fiber metrics (MFM) analysis model for mapping the structural remodeling of the ECM in hypertrophic scars in a highly-sensitive, three-dimensional (3D) manner. We find that both fiber components

The HERITAGE Family Study: A Review of the Effects of Exercise Training on Cardiometabolic Health, with Insights into Molecular Transducers.

The aim of the HERITAGE Family Study was to investigate individual differences in response to a standardized endurance exercise program, the role of familial aggregation, and the genetics of response levels of cardiorespiratory fitness and cardiovascular disease and diabetes risk factors. Here we summarize the findings and their potential implications for cardiometabolic health and cardiorespiratory fitness. It begins with overviews of background and planning, recruitment, testing and exercise program protocol, quality control measures, and other relevant organizational issues. A summary of fi

Reducing the Risk of Healthcare Associated Infections from Legionella and Other Waterborne Pathogens Using a Water Management for Construction (WMC) Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) Tool.

Construction activities in healthcare settings potentially expose building occupants to waterborne pathogens including Legionella and have been associated with morbidity and mortality. A Water Management for Construction-Infection Control Risk Assessment (WMC-ICRA) tool was developed addressing gaps in building water management programs. This enables healthcare organizations to meet the requirements of ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 188 referenced in numerous guidelines and regulations. A WMC-ICRA was modeled after the ICRA required for prevention and control of airborne pathogens to reduce the risk of

Toward a Population-Based Breast Cancer Risk Stratification Approach? The Needs and Concerns of Healthcare Providers.

Given the expanding knowledge base in cancer genomics, risk-based screening is among the promising avenues to improve breast cancer (BC) prevention and early detection at the population level. Semi-structured interviews were conducted to explore the perceptions of healthcare professionals (HPs) regarding the implementation of such an approach and identify tools that can support HPs. After undertaking an in-depth thematic content analysis of the responses, 11 themes were identified. These were embedded into a logical model to distinguish the potential eligible participants (who?), the main clin

An Exploratory Study of the Effects of Work Environment Variables on Job Satisfaction Among Chinese Prison Staff.

Job satisfaction has been linked to many positive outcomes, such as greater work performance, increased organizational commitment, reduced job burnout, decreased absenteeism, and lower turnover intent/turnover. A substantial body of research has examined how work environment variables are linked to job satisfaction among U.S. correctional staff; far less research has examined prison staff in non-Western nations, especially China. Using survey data collected from two prisons in Guangzhou, China, this study investigated the level of job satisfaction among prison staff and how personal characteri

Present state of cardiovascular community control programme in the Czech Socialist Republic.

The high incidence, great import, and long duration of cardiovascular diseases are reflected in high demands placed on the health services. Experience shows that utilization of the results of research in general practice is lagging behind. The application of any improvement in the diagnosis, therapy, and prevention in health care waits several years for its accomplishment. In order to improve this situation, the Ministry of Health of the CSR constituted, in line with WHO recommendations, a Department for Cardiovascular Diseases Control. The Department has worked out a programme of prevention a

Nurse Performance Evaluation in Healthcare: A Systematic Review of Measurement Approaches, Determinants, Appraisal Processes, and Outcomes.

BACKGROUND: Nurse performance evaluation encompasses multiple related but distinct activities, including measurement of work performance or professional competence and formal organizational appraisal processes. However, considerable conceptual and methodological heterogeneity exists across the literature, and the relationships among measurement approaches, determinants of measured performance, formal appraisal processes, and appraisal-related outcomes remain unclear. AIM: To systematically synthesize primary empirical evidence on nurse performance evaluation in clinical healthcare settings an

Prehospital fast track care for patients with hip fracture: Impact on time to surgery, hospital stay, post-operative complications and mortality a randomised, controlled trial.

INTRODUCTION: Ambulance organisations in Sweden have introduced prehospital fast track care (PFTC) for patients with suspected hip fracture. This means that the ambulance nurse starts the pre-operative procedure otherwise implemented at the accident & emergency ward (A&E) and transports the patient directly to the radiology department instead of A&E. If the diagnosis is confirmed, the patient is transported directly to the orthopaedic ward. No previous randomised, controlled studies have analysed PFTC to describe its possible advantages. The aim of this study is to examine whether PFTC has any

Antimicrobial stewardship in outpatient settings: leveraging innovative physician-pharmacist collaborations to reduce antibiotic resistance.

Antibiotic resistance is one of the world's most pressing public health problems. Historically, most drug-resistant bacteria have emerged in hospital settings, yet the vast majority of antimicrobials used in humans in the United States are administered in outpatient settings. Strong collaboration between physicians and pharmacists in the development of antimicrobial stewardship programs in outpatient settings is thus a critical strategy for curtailing antibiotic resistance. Recently, pilot projects have been launched in 3 states that pair physicians and community pharmacists under a Collaborat

Efforts to Improve Perinatal Outcomes for Women Enrolled in Medicaid.

Improving women's health and perinatal health outcomes is a high priority for Medicaid, the jointly financed federal-state health coverage program. The authorities provided by the Affordable Care Act give Medicaid new resources and opportunities to improve coverage and perinatal care. Given that the Medicaid program currently covers almost half of all births in the United States, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, working in partnership with states and other stakeholders, is using new and existing authorities to improve birth outcomes. Quality measurement, quality-improvement proj

Midwife-led continuity models versus other models of care for childbearing women.

BACKGROUND: Midwives are primary providers of care for childbearing women around the world. However, there is a lack of synthesised information to establish whether there are differences in morbidity and mortality, effectiveness and psychosocial outcomes between midwife-led continuity models and other models of care. OBJECTIVES: To compare midwife-led continuity models of care with other models of care for childbearing women and their infants. SEARCH METHODS: We searched the Cochrane Pregnancy and Childbirth Group's Trials Register (28 January 2013) and reference lists of retrieved studies.

Achieving continuity of care: facilitators and barriers in community mental health teams.

BACKGROUND: The integration of mental health and social services for people diagnosed with severe mental illness (SMI) has been a key aspect of attempts to reform mental health services in the UK and aims to minimise user and carer distress and confusion arising from service discontinuities. Community mental health teams (CMHTs) are a key component of UK policy for integrated service delivery, but implementing this policy has raised considerable organisational challenges. The aim of this study was to identify and explore facilitators and barriers perceived to influence continuity of care by he

The 6 dimensions of promising practice for case managed supports to end homelessness, part 1: contextualizing case management for ending homelessness.

PURPOSE/OBJECTIVES: Homelessness is a social condition increasing in frequency and severity across Canada. Interventions to end and prevent homelessness include effective case management in addition to an affordable housing provision. Little standardization exists for service providers to guide their decision making in developing and maintaining effective case management programs. The purpose of this 2-part article is to articulate dimensions of promising practice for case managers working in a "Housing First" context. Part 1 discusses research processes and findings and part-2 articulates the
