Pose Compensation Method for Robotic Manipulators Based on Transformer.

Industrial robots, particularly six-axis serial manipulators, have been widely deployed in manufacturing workflows including assembly, welding, material handling, inspection and precision machining. As the demand for higher end-effector positioning accuracy and trajectory tracking performance grows, end-position errors induced during manipulator operation-stemming from geometric deviations, joint friction, load fluctuations, current surges, as well as variations in velocity and acceleration-have emerged as a critical bottleneck limiting high-precision applications. Conventional error compensat

Hybrid-Actuated Multimodal Cephalopod-Inspired Underwater Robot.

To overcome the limitations in maneuverability and adaptability of traditional underwater vehicles, a novel hybrid-actuated, multimodal cephalopod-inspired robot is proposed. This robot innovatively integrates a hybrid drive system wherein sinusoidal undulating fins provide primary propulsion and steering, water-flapping tentacles offer auxiliary burst propulsion, and a gear-and-rack center-of-gravity (CoG) adjustment module modulates the pitch angle to enable depth control through hydrodynamic lift during forward motion. The effectiveness of the design was validated through a series of experi

Bladder Endometriosis Resolved by Robotic-Assisted Partial Cystectomy.

This is a case report of a 31-year-old G1P1 with deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE) of the bladder. She presented with bladder spasms, dysuria, and urinary frequency that worsened during her menses. On magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), she was found to have a 2.7 cm bladder dome mass and a 1.9 cm left-sided endometrioma. Biopsy of the bladder mass by urology was consistent with endometriosis. The patient failed medical management with Depo-Provera and GnRH antagonists and desired to proceed with surgical intervention. She ultimately underwent a robotic-assisted partial cystectomy for DIE of

Robotic Vesicovaginal Fistula Repair with Buccal Graft Interposition.

INTRODUCTION: Complex vesicovaginal fistulas (VVFs) often require advanced reconstructive strategies. Robotic repair with graft augmentation offers a minimally invasive and durable option for patients with recurrent fistulas or compromised tissue from prior surgery or radiation. We present a case of robotic VVF repair using a buccal mucosa graft and omental flap interposition in a patient with a history of chemoradiation and multiple pelvic surgeries. METHODS: A 42-year-old woman with rectal cancer treated with chemoradiation and low anterior resection developed a posterior VVF following hyst

Is Open Partial Nephrectomy Still an Option in the Robotic Era?

PURPOSE OF REVIEW: This review examines the modern role of open partial nephrectomy (OPN), indications for this surgical approach, and outcomes associated with the open technique in the era of robotic surgery. RECENT FINDINGS: Robotic-assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPN) now predominates for small renal masses and is increasingly applied to larger and more complex masses. Across multiple comparative series and meta-analyses, RAPN offers equivalent oncologic control and functional preservation compared to OPN, while demonstrating reduced perioperative morbidity. Nonetheless, OPN remains valuabl

Inside the obturator canal: robotic ganglion cyst decompression.

BACKGROUND: Obturator nerve compression is an uncommon cause of groin and medial thigh pain. Ganglion cysts extending into the obturator foramen are rare and usually managed via open or orthopaedic approaches. Robotic neuropelveology offers high-definition access to pelvic neurovascular structures and may facilitate nerve-preserving excision. OBJECTIVES: To demonstrate a robotic pelvic approach to the obturator foramen for excision of a ganglion cyst inseparable from the obturator nerve, and to highlight multidisciplinary (MDT) planning in atypical neuropathic pelvic pain. PARTICIPANT: A 47-

Robotic assistance in revision spine surgery: a scoping review.

As the number of primary spinal procedures continues to rise, so too does the volume of revision spine surgeries. Revision surgeries have specific challenges in altered osseous anatomy, scar tissue, compromised anatomical landmarks, and pre-existing hardware. Robotic-assisted spine surgery (RSS) is a new technology which may help offset these challenges. While RSS in primary procedures has received increasing attention, its utility in revision surgery remains unclear. This review sought to investigate the applications, precision, and outcomes of robotic assistance in revision spine surgery. A

NIRS monitoring during steep trendelenburg in robotic prostatectomy.

Robotic-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy (RALP) requires steep Trendelenburg positioning and CO₂ pneumoperitoneum, which may significantly influence cerebral hemodynamic homeostasis. While postoperative neurological complications are uncommon, there is concern regarding increased intracranial pressure and potential edema during prolonged procedures. Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) allows continuous monitoring of cerebral oxygenation, rSO2 reflects the balance between oxygen delivery and consumption, integrating changes of oxygenated hemoglobin (ΔHbO2) and deoxygenated hemoglobin (ΔHHb). A review of robotic-assisted mediastinal surgery in the pediatric population.

Advances in minimally invasive surgical techniques have greatly decreased the morbidity associated with large open thoracic operations. Robotic-assisted thoracic surgery is at the forefront of minimally invasive techniques and has been rapidly adopted in the adult population. However, the integration of robotic surgery in the pediatric population has been slower. Mediastinal resections are particularly well suited for a robotic approach as it offers precise motor control and dexterity within a confined space. The objective of this study is to clarify the feasibility and safety of a robotic app
