Malignant transformation of an ovarian mature teratoma is a rare phenomenon. The most common malignant tumor is squamous cell carcinoma, followed by other histologic subtypes. A 47-year-old woman presenting with abdominal pain and constipation was diagnosed with high-grade mucinous adenocarcinoma of the genital tract after undergoing extensive surgery. Carcinosarcoma ex pleomorphic adenoma (CCPA), also known as true mixed malignant tumor, is an extremely rare high-grade aggressive tumor. The histopathologic examination is the gold standard for diagnosis and radiologic imaging also plays an important role. CCPA should be considered in the differential diagnosis of salivary gland tumors when there are findings suggestive of malignancy such as necrosis and diffusion limitation on imaging.

A 69-year-old Japanese man who had undergone a partial gastrectomy for a duodenal ulcer 30 years earlier, presented with anemia, epigastralgia, and an abdominal mass. BACKGROUND: Salivary gland carcinosarcoma is a rare and aggressive malignant mixed tumor in which carcinomatous and sarcomatous elements coexist and metastasize together. The tumor may occur in the background of a preexisting pleomorphic adenoma or may arise de novo. We report a case of a woman presenting with a carcinosarcoma de novo of the parotid gland.

He presented with a 2-year history of a rapidly growing mass in the submandibular region. He reported undergoing excision of a nodule in the same region 10 years earlier.
