OBJECTIVES: This study investigates nicotine withdrawal symptoms and resumption rates of tobacco abuse among French submariners during and after a 7-week mission without using tobacco.
METHODS: A prospective study was conducted in 2010 during two missions aboard nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines. Over a 6-month follow-up, the study subjects completed five standardized questionnaires (Fagerström test, Hospital Anxiety Depression, and the Minnesota Nicotine Withdrawal Scale).

We tested a dependency rating scale issued from MMPI (considered relevant for DSM-III dependent personality disorder) on 33 males who met this DSM-III personality disorder. Elder abuse in India is understudied, particularly in rural areas. Psychological and rights-based forms of harm are less visible and rarely screened among elderly. This study validated the 12-item Vulnerability to Abuse Screening Scale (VASS-12) among 413 older adults (aged 60+) in rural South India. In assessing the problems of handicapped persons, the social relations represents an important element.
